Hmm. Rosemary's Baby might be good re-made. Maybe Let's Scare Jessica To Death. I could probably think of a ton that I'd like to see re-made, but now that the question has been asked, I can't think of many, lol. I'll post back when I think of some more.

for starters, it would have to be christine. the original film did not do the book any justice. they could have done so much more with it.

Christine would be good, so would Cujo. And I'd like to see Salem's Lot re-made. I think using todays tools it could be made to look a lot better than the original. I'd just be afraid of them going overboard with the CGI. I hate it when it looks cartoony, like parts of The Wolfman re-make did.

Forgot about the 2004 re-make of Salems Lot. It must have been pretty bad, I can't remember a thing about it.

I'd like to see one of the old anthologies remade. Maybe the original 1971 Tales From The Crypt or 1972's Vault Of Horror. Heck, for that matter let's see Trilogy Of Terror remade today. That would be awesome.

There's a lot of flak for remakes and sequels. Obviously original ideas are better and should be brought to the screen more. Big or small. However, there are some remakes, like John Carpenter's The Thing, and some sequels, like Bride of Frankenstein, that would have never been made if that were the only criteria for making a movie. A damn shame that would have been on both accounts. Not all remakes and all sequels are always great, but there are exceptions to the rule, as pointed out. Anyway, this is about remakes. Horror ones in particular.
A couple of horror movies I wouldn't mind seeing remade are as followed:
Village of the Damned - I feel neither the original or Carpenter's version nailed the concept. The original is too dull and boring, while the remake is too weird and uninspired.
Maximum Overdrive - I've been wanting a remake of this one for the longest time now. Would need the Green Goblin truck, and at least "Who Made Who" by AC/DC in it.
Resident Evil - I'd want one closer to the game and more scary. Still sad about the fact that Romero could have gotten to direct the original entry, but the powers that be at whatever studio owned the rights at the time didn't allow that to happen. He did make this video game commercial for Resident Evil 2 though.
While I'm on the topic of remakes, some people get upset by them because somehow they ruin the original for them. How? I do not know. No remake or sequel has ever ruined the original movie for me. Maybe ruined the concept that the original was going for, but never the original as a whole.

My opinions have changed a lot since 2011. I do dislike remakes, not because they ruin the original movie or story, but because they get me excited for something more, and 90% percent of the time fail to deliver. And that number is probably being kind. No doubt some movies deliver. Maniac is one case, the 2012 version with Elijah Wood was great. As good as the original? I don't know. But pretty freaking good. There's other's but the point is, I hate remakes just for remakes sake and the cash grab. If there's something that can be done to update the movie, enhance the movie, make people go "wow!" about the movie afterwards, then the remake was worth it. If not, it's a cash grab and made only for that purpose. IMO.
That seems to be the case most, not all, but most of the time.
