Thanks so much to ENDO for giving me the OK to do this, and thanks to YOU for looking! I thought some of my fellow readers here on the forum might be interested in hearing about my own work. I tend to write an even mix of horror and suspense, usually with a distinct Southern twang and more often than not with a mean streak of twisted humor . . . and each book is vastly different than the one before it. All of them are available in both print and digital editions on Amazon.com, with about half-a-dozen new titles on the way later this year! So, depending on your tastes/mood, please consider checking out: coming-of-age suspense in the vein of STAND BY ME and Robert R. McCammon's BOY'S LIFE (my all-time favorite novel) supernatural horror, my ode to those "evil in a small town" novels that were all the rage in the '80s psychological horror in the vein of Jack Ketchum and Richard Matheson . . . what if your love for horror put your life in danger?

That's really cool of you to do james, not many would. And to anyone that wants to take him up on his offer, I have Animosity, and while I haven't had the free time to finish it yet, what I have read has been really good. Really liking it. You guys should jump on this offer.

That's cool, james. I'd do this myself but I'll let others take advantage as I have over a hundred books on my dresser to read first. And maybe 200 movies.

Can you elaborate on what Animosity and Ugly as Sin are about? The look interesting and I'd like to know more. c:

Thanks for your interest! ANIMOSITY is a novel about a successful horror author whose neighbors seem proud to know him even though they "don't read that kind of stuff". One day, while out walking his dog, he finds the body of a murdered child. The community is terrified, and wants someone to blame. The media makes the situation even worse, insinuating connections were there are none between the crime and the gruesome nature of the writer's chosen genre. Soon, the people who were the writer's friends become his enemies, and he finds his life is in danger. This one says a lot about how the "normal" people perceive those of us who love this stuff. ANIMOSITY is my "love letter" to the horror genre, to writing horror, as well as my most personal novel to date. I'm so very proud of this one (as if you couldn't tell ). UGLY AS SIN isn't quite horror -- I call it "white-trash noir" -- but it's definitely a very dark novel (albeit with a streak of very twisted humor). It's the story of Nick Bullman, a former professional wrestler whose life is forever altered one night after he's abducted by two psychotic fans who think his villianous "heel" character is the real deal. And that's just the first ten pages. These days, Nick lives with a constant hatred of just about everyone, as he was left horribly disfigured after the incident. He wants to be left alone. But then he gets a call from someone whose voice he hasn't heard in years -- his estranged daughter. She's crying, she's afraid, and she needs him. And for the first time in his life, Nick decides to do the right thing . . . even if it kills him. Thanks again! Hope I've piqued your curiosity! JN

Really good james, liked it a lot. If I had any money I'd pick up a copy. Just out of curiosity, was there anything special you had to do to use the ring name The Widowmaker in the book? I only ask because that was one of Barry Windham's characters in the WWF/WWE. I don't know how any of that works so I have no idea if it was an issue for you, again, just asking out of curiosity.

I did look it up at some point, and when I saw that the guy was no longer wrestling under that name -- and that he never was a huge name anyway -- I didn't worry about it too much. I guess if McMahon comes after me at this point, I'm screwed. No way could I win against his legal team. LOL

Wow, no idea there was a real live author on here! That's very cool. I just have to say from a design point of view, I really like your book covers. Especially Ugly As Sin. I'll have to check these out sometime, I actually like reading horror books, even though I get freaked out easily.(specifically when I read Phantoms by Dean Koontz, which I had a freaky incident where I can still remember the details vividly, but that's another story.)
