Its a pretty brutal film. I liked it, but I don't think I would have bought it. Definitely worth a rent or Netflix viewing.

its very brutal. when it was finally released on dvd after being banned for so long, I was first in line to get it. The version I have shows the cut footage on the special features menu, and that makes for even harder viewing. I dont watch this often cos its one of those movies that gets in your head and stays with you forever.
Pretty evil, but worth the watch.

Been a while since I've seen the original. I caught the remake a few months back on cable. Both are rough, with some brutal scenes.
The original gets under my skin more, because the girls seem so innocent. The movie has some really rough scenes, accentuated by the sheer lack of feeling and compassion for another person by the assailants.
Definitely worth a watch, though if I had to recommend the original or the re- make, it'd be the original. Slightly dated and cheesy at times, but rough most of the way through.

Well the crux of the movie is the girl and her family getting back at the guys. Some good scenes of that happening.

yeah what mum and dad do to the bad guys is pretty rough although well deserved! the scene where they make 1 girl eneter the lake knowing shes going to get shot at is pretty uncomfortable, as are the rapes, and when the torture scenes. On the deleted scenes part theres one bit that would nt look out of place on cannibal holocaust, so needless to say I found that pretty sick

I liked this the first time I watched it, but it didn't hold up on a second viewing for me at all. The abrupt shift from pure terror to the very out of place humor does this movie no favors. It just doesn't work.
