Abby Russell (Paz de la Huerta) is a very dedicated nurse. She is very good at her job and has even taken a freshly graduated student named Danni Rodgers (Katrina Bowden) under her wing. On the surface, Abby seems like the perfect caring nurse, but she hides a very dark secret. After she gets off her shift, Abby cruises around the local bars looking for married men who are out cheating on their wives. After seducing them, she gives them an opportunity to redeem themselves, but when they don't, she violently murders them!
Abby and Danni become friends, and Abby comforts her when, after seeing her first severely injured patient, she winds up freezing. Danni is immediately berated by the sleazy and sexist Dr. Morris (Judd Nelson), and she is left wondering how she will manage to recover from this awful incident. Abby invites her for a night out to forget all about what happened, and during their night out Danni confesses that she doesn't trust her mother's new husband. No sooner than she says this do they come across him getting into his car with a younger woman when he claimed to be out of town at a convention/ The night is now officially ruined!
Instead of heading home however, Abby convinces Danni to hit up a bar with her so they can forget this terrible day. They do lots of shots, and it winds up with the 2 of them making out, then taking a man home and having sex with each other. Needless to say, this leads to a rather awkward morning, with Danni rushing home and then to work, wanting to forget this night ever happened. Abby however, thinks that this is only the start of a closer relationship between the 2, and uses this as a reason to trick Danni's stepfather into thinking they will have sex, only to murder him too! Now that she's murdered this cheating pig, Danni won't have to worry about her mother since she will gain a large inheritance and will be fine on her own, so the two of them can be happy together, right?
Wrong. Danni instead decides to move in with her boyfriend, which hurts and infuriates Abby. Seeing this as both an insult and betrayal, now Abby is dead set on ruining her life. She begins showering her the pictures of what happened that night, threatening people she cares about, and that's only the beginning of things to come. During this though, she will uncover something even more shocking and sinister about Abby that has been hidden for a very long time...
Yowza, another stinker! Granted, I didn't expect this to be good in the least, but it still honestly shocked me with just how lame it was. The 3D aspect of this film is absolutely useless, being used in only a handful of scenes, none of which are particularly great. The acting, for the most part, is passable, except for main star Paz de la Huerta, who is absolutely atrocious! Not only is her acting awful, but her breathy, Marilyn Monroe wannabe voice is both annoying and very distracting. Her constant voice overs are grating and are mostly unnecessary.
There is plenty of gore here, which is a mix of some pretty good practical with a lot of dreadful CGI. The ending is also quite unsatisfying, along with a "twist" that you can see from a mile away. Overall a very unsatisfying film if you're looking for something entertaining. To me, it doesn't even fall under the category of so bad it's good.
