Just finished binge watching this 4 season show on Netflix. It took me a couple of episodes to get into it, but once I got to like the characters I was hooked.
The plot centers on a vampire and a werewolf who meet at work, become friends and decide to try an experiment. They rent a house and move in together determined to help each other try to live as normal a life as they can by suppressing their supernatural side. Shortly after moving in, they become aware that they are not alone in the house when the ghost of a young woman who died in the house appears to them. The three eventually form a close bond and work together to help each other through the many trials they each face in their quest to cling to their humanity.
Originally a BBC series, a North American version was produced and aired in Canada and the US. After watching the US one, I started to watch the UK show, but didn't like the characters as much, although so far the plot is almost identical. I may give it a chance, perhaps I've just grown so accustomed to American characters, it's hard to imagine them played by different actors.
Basically the show is like a roller coaster ride where one minute someone's in grave danger and then suddenly they've got you laughing.
Some clips:
Aiden, the vampire, is cut off from bag blood, falls off the wagon and is forced to 'feed live' again to survive. Josh, his werewolf room mate offers the only solution he can think of to stop his friend from killing their human house guest...
Sally the ghost is brought back from the dead but shortly after enjoying her corporeal form, her flesh begins to rapidly decompose and she develops a ghoulish desire for human flesh. Now it's Aiden's turn to offer himself up to help his friend...
Sally looks like the Grudge...

Probably check this out, the clips looked pretty good especially that last one. That's the guy from The Mist too, and I liked him in that.
We watched The Slap on NetFlix, the US version. Then we watched the UK version and Melissa George played the same role in both versions, but I just couldn't get into the UK one, even though it was almost exactly the same just with a different cast (except for George) so I completely understand not being able to get into the UK version of this. It wasn't that it was bad, it was just such a different cast.
Got some other things we're binging on right now, mostly Parks and Rec, but I'll try this out when we need a breather, lol.

Spoiler alert. Just finished the original UK series and I gotta say, it won me over. There's a twist with their version, the characters in the first three seasons, who I came to love, are gone by season 4 and you get a whole new cast. At first you're like WTH, but if you stick with it, it's like getting bonus new show after the series ends and it's good in it's own right. The North American series begins the same as the UK version, but takes a big detour very quickly. I think it was a bit less dark than the UK version, although they both had humorous moments throughout. Season four of the UK version has similar elements of the other two shows, but the new big bad, who is unlike all the other supernaturals in this series, is the most cunning and formidable nemesis of all.
