Disclaimer, none of this stuff is real, just something I submitted to /r/nosleep, I thought it was pretty good at the time. I suck at writing horror, tell me what you think?
What you are about to read, is an accurate interpretation of the frightening experience I was just subjected to. Please, can anyone reading this help me? I'm trapped in my own house, too afraid of what the consequences may be, to move. I noticed the time on my phone said 11:13pm, not really late, but my parents would be annoyed if they found me up. That's the reason I noticed it. I was being really quite so I wouldn't wake my parents, just scrolling through my Facebook news feed on my phone. Then I noticed how suddenly quiet it was. Not quiet like library quiet, this was an eerie death like silence, that was deafening at the same time. It was like the whole neighbourhood was holding it's breath. I swear it wasn't this quiet before. In fact I distinctly remember hearing footsteps padding through my hallway, like one of my parents had gotten up to go to the toilet, though I can't remember if I heard the toilet door open or not. With out warning an abrupt feeling of unease and an urgent sense of something being deeply wrong completely overcame me. I didn't know what was happening, something just felt off, wrong. A noise cut through the silence, only to bring a deeper sense of dread. The noise was my door opening, my house is quite old, so everything either squeaks or shudders. The noise was so loud it reverberated through my mute house, it stretched on for what seemed like an eternity, before coming to a shuddering stop. What I tell you next is to help you understand how I feel in my current situation. The way my room is set out, is so that my bed is on the same side as the door into my room. There is a small amount of wall space that hides the door from the vision of my bed. So someone could hide behind that part of wall and I wouldn't see them, if they didn't want me to. Also the way I am positioned in bed, is so I am facing away from my door, still facing my phone screen as I was when it happened. At the time I was completely frozen. I thought it could be one of my parents come in to tell me off, but this was a different kind of fear. Not just the fear you get, when you think you could get caught doing something you're not supposed to, I was scared for my life. All I could do was lay in bed trembling, as I heard something make it's way towards my bed. Whatever it was, it wasn't human. The whole time I lay unable to look, unable to move to see the sight that awaited me. It made lots of dry clicking noises as it walked, like small bones breaking, it's feet making soft scratching noises along the carpet. I haven't moved since it came in. Still haven't turned to look. I can feel it breathing on me, it's foul decaying breath. It's been watching me write this out and I'm scared as to what will happen when I stop writing. These might be my last words, please, can anyone help me? UPDATE: Sorry it's been awhile. The next part to my story is in the comments, i'm sorry I've made it awkward to follow. if you want I can delete that comment and edit it in to this. Thanks for all of the advice. Before going to sleep I used some Himala salt (I heard this is best), and poured it around my bed. My bed is tucked into the corner of my room, because I have a small room, so it optimizes space. I thought it would be better if I pulled it away from the wall, so that I could easily put the salt around my bed. Doing that made me remember something strange, that I hadn't thought too much on before. Normally I make sure my bed is pushed up right against the wall in the corner of my room. Though I find that every now and a then when I've made my bed in the past, it's come away from the wall. I don't know if his is important, but it has slight relevance to the story, because of what I found in the morning. The night was actually pretty uneventful (THANK GOD!). The only thing that happened was my door shook. I couldn't get a lock on my door and I don't already have on, but I always have my door closed. There was no wind in the house and I was thinking maybe an earthquake, though it was only my door that shook. The noise wasn't too loud, but loud enough to wake me from my sleep and i'm not that light of a sleeper, when I checked what the time was, it was 3:00AM, does this time have any significance? The door shaking only lasted fr a few minutes and stopped for what I would assume was the rest of the night, after finally falling asleep again at 4:00AM, nothing else woke me. Yet, in the morning, I found that my bed had been pushed back into the corner of my room, dragged through the salt circle, is that bad? My parents were angry when they saw the salt on the floor, I have to vacuum it up now. I don't know what i'll do tonight....
(story continued)
I had no concept of time as I lay there. The thing, whatever it was sounded like it was becoming tired almost. It's raspy breath becoming exasperated, like it was struggling with each intake. My phone light had gone off at this point, it is set to turn off after 30 seconds of inactivity. After posting my previous doccumentation, I stayed in the fixed state of tension, not knowing what to do. Then the phone light went off. My breath hitched and I squeezed my eyes shut, certain death would come. But nothing happened. My mind raced with thoughts. What was this creature? What did it want from me? Was it trying to lure me into a false sense of security, before making it's attack? Why did it come now? While all of this flooded my head, my eyes started becoming accustomed to the dark. In the dark I noticed that my room was not completely black. Two small soft lights glowed behind me. They were coming from, what seemed to be the eyes of the creature. Suddenly my phone vibrated, disrupting the silence. The small screen had lit up, blinding me momentarily, after the long absence of light. I had just gotten a new app reminding me to have water, because I'm quite bad at having it and I know it's good for me. I looked at the time, apparently 3:00AM is a good time to have water. The creature moved, my whole body tensed like a bolt of lightning had just gone through me. The thing brought it's head to my ear, the stentch was nearly unbearable making my eyes water and that whole side of my body felt frozen. I felt sensation of hot and cold on my arm and I realised the thing was touching me. I heard the clicking of it's jaw as it opened it's mouth. Though I can't be sure if the words ever came from it's mouth. They sounded like they were in my head. A buzzing noise filled my ears, but the deep gravelly voice in my head was still heard. "This is his time, he wants you, but not tonight." Then there was silence again. I don't know for how long the creature stayed, I can't be sure. I stayed locked in that position until the next morning. I was awoken to the normal sounds in my house. My father going to work and my mother frantically cleaning our house, which she thinks us always dirty, but never is. Slowly I turned my head. Nothing. There was nothing there. Maybe it was all just a dream. I sighed, deep with relief as I got out of my bed. Then I stopped, something had caught my eye. I looked at my left arm. The side I didn't sleep on. Around it were black markings, I would have thought dirt, but the colour was too dark for that. The markings almost looked as if they were part of my skin. As I twisted my arm, I was horrified at my sudden realisation. The markings, formed a hand print.
