I... I don't know how I feel about this. I really don't. It doesn't look great, but Steven Spielberg.

Just saw the preview for that this morning... it's not something I'm dying to see, but if the hubby wants to, I'll still go. -shrugs- Looked interesting enough, I guess.

We actually saw the first 45 minutes of this twice, last weekend. Not on purpose. The first time we went, the power ended up going out (on the whole street that the theatre was on) and it didn't come back on, so they gave us vouchers to come back another day. But I actually ended up really liking the movie, much more than I expected to! I loved the concept of it and how it pointed out how incredibly easy it is to get lost in another world like that, where you can be anyone or anything you want. I've never read the book though, so I don't have that to compare it to, though one of my friends said there were noticeable changes from the book. But I thought the movie was great, and very entertaining. My favorite part was when they "deployed" Chucky, lol, and the reaction of the person he clings to. If you've seen the movie, you'll know what I'm referring to.

Not at all, haha. Wait, no, I take that back, because the part when they had to find a clue in a scene of The Shining scared me. There are a ton of pop culture references, from video games and movies throughout the years though. Here's a short synopsis from IMDb: "When the creator of a virtual reality world called the OASIS dies, he releases a video in which he challenges all OASIS users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune."

Good, old-fashioned, popcorn flick from Spielberg. Nothing that hasn't been said before. Nothing too illuminating. Still fun stuff.
Great visuals. Good mix of music and pop culture references.
I still would have loved it if Gene Wilder said yes to Spielberg wanting him to play the creator. That would have been the tops.
Good movie overall though. Spielberg's in fine form.

Mhmm, I find that I can keep watching this one over and over and not get tired of it. I guess because I can relate to escaping inside a video game (MMORPG) and getting completely lost and enthralled in it.
