One day next week I'm planning on going on a tour of nearby charity shops. I'll let you all know what I pick up!

After a (very brief) bizarre and exciting adventure on another forum (which I won't go into), I return to normality and sanity here.
I was given a few DVDs by relatives who now use streaming services for their viewing. These include: Roald Dahl's Tales of the Unexpected. The Complete First series; Blackbeard's Ghost; Only Yesterday (Studio Ghibli); Rebecca (1940); and something I'm especially pleased to pick up, Kolchak: the Night Stalker, a five disc set with all 20 episodes.
They kept their Blu-ray (not that they had many), but I don't have a problem with having DVDs.

Oh man, some good stuff there. I love Roald Dahl's Tales of the Unexpected. I saw some episodes when I was a kid after wrestling on a couple of Saturdays and the episodes just stuck with me. When we got rid of cable a few years back and started streaming everything, I found the entire series being shown on Tubi and I still love them. The Kolckak series was good too, gets kind of campy towards the end of it's run, but still a solid series. Wish that would show on one of our channels.

It's a pity it doesn't include the two films. What are your favourite episodes?

It's been so long since I've seen them, it's hard for me to say. Hard to remember them closely. I think the movies stand out in my memory more than the actual episodes, though I did watch them with my Mom back in the day. The Night Stalker and The Night Strangler I think were the movies.
Think the show had a fairly short run, and I know that Darren McGavin wasn't happy with the direction the show was going. He wanted to keep it serious and horror based and the writers wanted to go with camp thinking it would get more people to watch, but it did the opposite. Too bad, I loved him as Kolchak.

I've almost blind bought The Night Stalker and The Night Strangler before. I really wanna see these two flicks eventually.

They're not bad at all for made for TV movies, but I love Darren McGavin...Still think they're solid movies.

Have you watched Everything Everywhere All At Once yet NDX? Just wondering how it was. Looks like so much going on it would be hard to follow.

Not yet, I'm currently on a George Carlin binge watching his box set. But I plan on watching it pretty soon as that's one of the most anticipated movies I've had for the year so far. Picked it up because Target had it priced wrong and I took advantage of that. My aunt wasn't a fan but I figured she wouldn't be, it's definitely not her style of film. Almost everyone else that I've spoken to that have seen it loved it, so I have high hopes for it.

I went nuts and bought almost every film directed by or produced by Andy Sidaris. Yeah, they're cheap, sleazy, and bad, but that's what makes them fun.
