Don't know how many of you use Netflix, but I'm sure you know the uproar that was caused when the company began to charge separately for streaming and mailing DVD's. Many people were upset that now they had to pay almost double what they were before.
Since then, Netflix has issued an apology and launched Qwikster, which is now their mail order DVD service, while Netflix refers to the streaming service online and through gaming consoles.
Personally, I don't think they should be charged separately and think this is a complete joke. I liked having both services and it was the best way for me to check out movies to see if they were actually worth the price of purchase. Some things were DVD only while other movies were only streaming (specifically films that never got a DVD release).
I liked having both services. DVD's to watch at my own pace and return when I wanted, and streaming to find things when friends came over.
What's your take on this?

A lot of folks feel exactly like you do and are not happy about the new setup. I personally don't stream, because you have to have X-Box live gold to do it(if you have an X-Box console), and I stopped paying for live a while back. And that's another rip off unto itself.
Pay for this to stream it, then pay for this to watch it. BS. But, I've been a NetFlix member almost since they started, and I was always happy with the price and the service. Now, it seems they're going the same route and trying to gouge loyal customers and new ones alike.
Again, I don't stream anything, especially now...not paying two times to do it, but I can see why a lot of people are pissed. Doesn't seem too well thought through, other than trying to make more money...and that seems to have bit them in the ass.

If you had a ps3, you'd be able to use streaming without that extra price like I did!
Funny how they split up the service to make more money but lost a million customers in the process.
I'm one of those people that NEED Netflix though. A lot of the movies I watch are either old, foreign or just plain obscure. I won't be able to watch them on cable or find them in Redbox, so I'm in sort of a bind really.

It's either download or buy. If I get lucky I can find a friend who might have the movie I want, but it's not too likely with my taste.

To me, for as many DVDs as I can watch in a month, $7.99 ain't bad. I can understand how people that use it for streaming and DVDs would be upset, but since I don't stream, didn't really upset me, other than the way they handled it.
I understand prices go up, but double to keep both services? I can see why a lot of people are getting out. I'll be keeping it. Like gorepolice said, it's an easy way for me to find movies that I may not otherwise, unless I turned to torrents.

Streaming or getting a DVD in the mail is less of a hassle than finding and waiting for a torrent to finish downloading, plus it's cheaper than buying every movie.

I used to share funny stories about jerk customers, it helped pass the time at work.
I have not seen this commercial, but now I'm curious as to what they say.
Either way, I will at least do the streaming thing, though I hear that their mailing service will include video games as well so that appeals to me.

I got another email from NetFlix. Now, there will be no Qwikster, it's all staying NetFlix. DVDs and streaming, and no price increase. So, back to the way they were to begin with, only less about a million or so customers. That was worth it for nothing, huh?

Well, it drove their stock price back up after the announcement.
Anyhoo, I'll be taking advantage of it once I upgrade my so called media center. And by media center, I mean 2 bookshelves overflowing with dvds and a tv that was new in 1989.

I used to have a media center just like that. I still miss it sometimes. Nah, not really. You gotta go HD man.

Next month is the plan. Especially seeing the first season of Walking Dead get a re-release with the first episode in B&W (should have been the whole series, though).
