There's a theater in Chinatown by me called Sunshine Cinemas that plays weekly midnight movies on Fridays and Saturdays. The movies can be any genre and are classics as well as some cult favorites.
Recently they have played movies such as Mortal Kombat, Alien, Back to the Future, King of New York, Jurassic Park and Cannibal Holocaust.
My friends and I occasionally make a night of it when there is something really awesome playing. There are a few movies this month that I want to check out that include the following:
Lucio Fulci's Zombie, Aliens (which is my favorite movie ever) and Friday The 13th part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan. What makes Friday awesome is that both nights Jason himself, Kane Hodder will be there!
So, anybody else have a theater by them that does anything like this?

there used to be a theatre that sometimes had a horror night, but they stopped doing it after a few years.

Aw man that sucks! I guess not enough people attended to make it worthwhile for them? I would think tons of people would have loved to go.

I would love to have a theater do classic Kung Fu marathons.

G4 shows Enter The Dragon like they wrote it or something.
Used to have some theaters in DC that showed the old stuff, but all gone sadly.

Guess I'm lucky this place is around. Doesn't hurt that they have the best damn theater popcorn I ever ate in my life either.

Occasionally a few theaters within at least 20, 30 or so minutes from me will show old movies. Whether it's an old horror movie or an Audrey Hepburn flick. Helps that Fandango and TCM Presents does stuff too with the likes of AMC and such.

The Sunshine closed down a few years ago. The Nitehawk has somewhat taken its place but it's not the same.

Well, there's at least Alamo Drafthouse. Just wish the Brooklyn one played as much awesome stuff as Yonkers theater did.

Hopefully Manhattan will. Now, why Staten Island is getting one and not Queens I have no idea.
