A classic. I think this is the version I've watched most from that Ultimate set they put out.

Used to have the ultimate DVD but it was US and I'm from the UK. Could get it to play on one of my DVD players but now just use my PS4. Arrow did release one in the UK but it's out of print now and not cheap online.
I'd only seen the theatrical edition until I bought the ultimate one. I actually prefer the theatrical edition and apparently it was George A. Romero's favourite. It's ages since I've seen the extended version but thought the theatrical version had better pacing.
I've never seen the international version Argento produced but apparently it removes all the comedy elements. I know some people find it too over the top but I think it's part of what makes the film. Adds to the comic book feel the film has at times. Probably will watch this version at some point.

Of all the cuts, I like the extended version the best, although the theatrical cut isn't bad either. I've only seen the Argento cut once, but I didn't like it at all. The pacing felt off, and the soundtrack they used didn't go with the film at all.

I do love the band and their work on dawn of the dead but I like some of the stuff used from the library tracks. I watched an interview the other week with Claudio Simonetti who said originally the non Argento version didn't include the Goblin soundtrack but after hearing it once seeing Argento's version Romero decided to add it to his version and re-release it

hi , what are the playing length of the two ?? According to IMDB the theatrical version is 127 minutes and the extended version is 139 minutes. The Argento version sometimes called the European version (thankfully the UK tends to get the theatrical version) is 118 minutes. IMDB also mentions there have been multiple cut versions. Apparently someone has also edited a 155 minute version and put it online. Called the extended mall hours cut it is basically a super edit of all 3 main versions above into one film Just realised the youtube video at the top of the post isn't the extended version but actually the fan edit extended mall hours. Will have to give it a watch someday
