The race was stopped early due to rain Sunday, so it was finished Monday. Close one as usual, and as usual there was a huge wreck. This time in the final lap as Ryan Newman was leading when Ryan Blainey nudged Newman's car sending him into the wall to start the wreck.
Newman was attended to immediately and then taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. He was released today. He was very lucky to not be seriously injured.
Good video with details on the wreck and the safety precautions used.

Earnhardt died 19 years ago? Damn, that ish still feels like yesterday. I still remember it well.
Also glad Newman was safe.

It does seem like yesterday. Sad thing is Earnhardt's life could have been saved, but at the time, wearing the HANS device wasn't mandatory and he hated wearing it because he was old school.
As soon as it was proven it could save lives, it should have been made mandatory to use. They dropped the ball there.
