My girlfriend and I have been playing virtual trivia games since this whole self-isolation. Here's one of them: www.youtube.com/channel/UCkBS-sobvBgPRkXJUsrFvCQ. Have two screens up. The Youtube page and www.kahoot.it to actually play. There's a horror trivia this Saturday at 7pm. Eastern time I believe. They do more every day. You can find them on Facebook.

Sounds like a great way to pass some time, thanks. I think we're about Scrabbled out here, so this will help.

Our state's stay-at-home order just extended to May 1st now. Was April 6th, but . . . Sheesh. Applied for unemployment today until the place I work for can get me hours again. Weird, effed up times.

I'm... employed again. The company rescinded their release and gave us all our jobs and we can work at home (how?!) our normal time each week.
Not gonna lie, was gonna use that UI money to save up and get some important stuff once this passed by (like shelves and a new bed). But now to make it work I'm gonna have to get more ours at CVS to level out.
I seriously have no idea how I'm gonna work at home for this gig, but it's nice to know I'm still employed with the company.

Can you do it on your laptop NDX like over Skype or something if that's even still a thing? Glad you still have a job regardless. Good luck to you MacReadyOrNot, hope you're back to work soon. Unemployment helps.

I actually just got my unemployment notification in the mail today but they have me set to receive exactly $0 until 3/2021. Because it is based on what I made LAST YEAR when I wasn't paying taxes because of my contractor/self-employment job I was working for my dad for the past 8 years... ugh. But after 2 weeks of mandatory no-pay vacation, my temp job decided they wanted to allow access to work from home, since they "could really use my help." So I at least have that back again, and of course I'm loving the WFH situation because I no longer have to deal with a 1.5-2 hour commute (each way) every day. AND I get the house to myself again for the majority of the day. So there's my silver lining in this whole situation.

That's good to hear ✶April✶ ! It's a really tough time, any silver lining is good stuff.
I feel bad for the small businesses that were barely making it before all of this BS and probably won't come back after, just took too much of a hit. Sad.

I think that's what I'm getting through them. Zilch. Because of my independent contractor status, even though my state just allowed workers like me to be included recently. So, who knows. I'll just go back every week to keep claiming my claims. This world @#$%ing sucks.

Well, I spoke too soon also. Was notified today that it was my last day at my temp job, because of some BS reason that it wasn't in their budget for covid to keep temps. (they are a very large company, I find it hard to believe they can't afford it) And I doubt my supervisor would have even told me at all if I hadn't reached out to her directly first, because of an issue with my timesheet. Ugh, I guess the good thing is that I won't have to deal with pricks like that anymore who have no idea how to communicate a damn thing. Though with my luck, I will find new pricks to have to deal with at whatever next gig I can manage to secure... -sigh- yes the world does suck sometimes.

Yeah, I'm sorry to hear about that too NDX. Very hard losing a very loved member of the family at any age, much less that young. My condolences and prayers to her and her family. Sorry to hear about your job ✶April✶, it's rough right now. Hopefully something will come along soon and hopefully it'll be something you like.

Thanks MacReadyOrNot & endo. I appreciate your comments. And so sorry to hear about that NDX. So young to have been taken from the world like that.

Well, some people I know already got their stimulus checks here in the States, but my account wasn't entirely set up for direct deposit. Maybe because I owed in taxes instead of getting a return. Anyway, I got it all set up now. Just a waiting game now to see when the "big pile" of money comes in.
