Did anyone watch the 3 part miniseries of Dracula the BBC did here in the UK? I think the BBC partnered with Netflix for other countries e.g. US
Admittingly I've not seen the original Dracula or many vampire films to be honest. Most of the horror films I watch tend to be in the 20th/21st century so it was different.
The 3rd part was set in modern times in Whitby which is where bram stoker got his inspiration for Dracula. It's a beautiful place I visited a few years ago and plan to go back and stay over at some point.
It's written by the people behind the BBC's modern day version of Sherlock who are also behind doctor who with one of them, Steven Moffat, being the shows former show runner. Because of sherlock I kind of expected them to set it all in modern times.
It has some interesting stuff and tried to add a bit of mystery but it felt like it was trying to sherlock the show at times to.
A lot of people weren't keen on the final. I liked the idea of bringing Dracula to the modern day and how he would deal with all the changes although most didn't seem to shock him. It didn't seem to know what it wanted to do though. There where things left unanswered such as the company trying to use Dracula's blood, where it got its funding from.
There's talks about it returning possibly but its early days

I haven't seen it. We don't have Netflix, and the newer vampire movies and shows don't do much for me. If it pops up on a channel we have sometime, I'll give it a shot.
