The cartoons mentioned on a couple of posts by HoneyGoddess made me think of this. Know many? I suppose there will be several Japanese ones.
Here is a short one from 1953. Edgar Allan Poe's The Tell Tale Heart.

I suppose we could include the cartoon Heavy Metal, though more Science Fantasy, it has horror elements in it. Being framed around the Loc-Nar.
I haven't seen the sequel, Heavy Metal 2000. Has anyone here? It tends to get negative reviews.

There are some I know of. There was Tales from the Cryptkeeper that was all animated and kind of geared to kids but I loved watching it too. Always glad it was on and me and the kids would get a blanket and watch on the couch. There's a pretty good movie I saw not too long ago, Extraordinary Tales from 2013. Edgar Allan Poe stories all animated and narrated by Christopher Lee! There's the Tales from the Crypt TV series episode, The Three Little Pics, which is animated. Heavy Metal and some Resident Evil movies I don't know much about. probably some good early stuff aside from The Tell Tale Heart, which is a great story.

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow has been made into several cartoons.
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, a 1949 cartoon by Walt Disney, has a segment based on it.
There are at least two from the 1970s.
