"Do you read Sutter Cane? Then you might want to head to Booth #2020 next week at San Diego Comic Con for a rare prop appearance by In the Mouth of Madness‘ Mrs. Pickman. Horror Master John Carpenter recently revealed on Twitter that the tentacled entity will take up residence at Storm King Comics’ exhibition booth for the con’s duration."
John Carpenter @thehorrormaster "Mrs. Pickman from "In The Mouth Of Madness "will be making her first appearance ever at SDCC 2022. July 21-24 at booth #2020 Be sure to stop by and visit. She loves taking photos."
"In the Mouth of Madness starred Sam Neill as John Trent, a freelance insurance investigator tasked with tracking down missing writer Sutter Cane and recovering his manuscript. Trent’s search leads him to Hobb’s End, the fictional town featured in Cane’s novels. That happens to include its otherworldly residents.
One of the more memorable citizens of Hobb’s End was the seemingly benign hotel owner, Mrs. Pickman (Frances Bay). In Cane’s works, Mrs. Pickman revealed a less than human side with a massive murderous streak; the tentacled woman ties up then eventually slaughters her husband. It’s one of the more memorable moments, signaling that Trent has crossed over into Cane’s world.
Storm King Comics is headed by writer/producer/editor Sandy King, who will be on hand at SDCC for multiple panels, signings, and more:"

I like it. Several Lovecraft references here. Off the top of my head, Pickman is from the short story Pickman's Model, and is the name of a painter. Also, Lovecraft wrote a novella called At the Mountains of Madness, and tentacled entities are popular in his work. Hobb's End is from Quatermass and the Pit, a classic British SF TV series and later film. I seem to remember in the film or TV serial a character says Hob is an old name for the devil. I haven't seen In the Mouth of Madness, but I'm sure there are a lot of other Lovecraft references in it.

It's a very Lovecraftian themed movie and one of my all time favorites. San Neill is awesome in it, really love this one. You should give it a watch as soon as you can.
