Fell asleep watching the original and fell asleep even sooner during the remake. How can you make something even MORE BORING?

I really like the original and watched it last week. The characters are not so black and white as the later slashers, the central character is not THAT likable and the traditional good girl who would usually live until the end is the first to get bumped off. Margot Kidder is excellent in it. My only criticism is the end is stupid, really stupid. John Saxon goes through the whole film criticizing Nash and then the entire town's police force leave Hussey asleep.  The remake was awful. |

I really wanted see the original over Christmas this year and just forgot about it...again. It's on my Netflix queue, so I will see it sometime soon.

I can't really vote yet on this one, having only seen the original, which I love. One of the best if not the best Christmas horror movies out there.
However, we should update the poll now to include the 2019 remake as well.
I do want to see both remakes, even though I haven't heard great things.
It's interesting too that the studio putting out the first remake, in '06 or whenever, made up scenes for the trailer so people would see their movie. A bunch of people were pissed when those scenes weren't in the movie. I can only imagine.
