Have a feeling he won't be one next season, especially after the interview he gave the other day. He's a classy guy, so he didn't really call anyone out, but he said enough. He also said he doesn't want to retire, IF he can play.
So, just hypothetically, if he's not going to be a Colt and can play, where does he go? I know the Jets have already shown interest in having him, if he leaves the Colts, but that doesn't seem like a fit for him. I don't think Rex Ryan is a coach that Peyton would want to play for, no offense.
The Redskins are known for throwing tons of money at people, but more often than not it doesn't work out. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him here. But, realistically, how many years does he have left in him? 3, maybe 4 good seasons? Figure 2 seasons to get the team set up for him, the 1 or 2 more to try and make a playoff run?
I don't know. He did say that he wanted to end his career as a Colt, so even though he wants to play, he may just retire. Gonna be an interesting off season.

Denver as tebows back up lol he will be his mentor he isn't gonna play just coach and go in when needed. LOL where ever he ends up he won't be the starter he isn't like farve he can play the game from the sidelines and never have to touch the ball but if I was gonna have peyton on my team I would want a new, fresh, and skilled qb and have peyton come in and help perfect his game not pay to have peyton play Denver looks good with tebow and a manning. When did this interview happen.

The Jets pull ish like this all the time. They start putting their faith in a young buck, and when he doesn't pan out as fast as they want (even though I think Sanchez is doing fine), they look for a quick fix with a vet and throw the youth to the side. While I like Manning, they need to keep their investment in Sanchez.
Now, I could see Manning doing something with the Bills and bringing them back to a former 4 Superbowl loss dynasty.

But still, he has 3 or 4 good seasons left. For him, you have to set the team up around him, and there's at least a season there. Most teams want instant results, and if you sign him, you know they'll want em. Be hard for him to go elsewhere really, and play effectively from the start.
After the neck thing, maybe it would be best if he just called it quits.

Maybe Tony. I definitely see him as a coach at some point.

Peter King said before the Pro Bowl game tonight that a close friend of the Mannings has said Peyton isn't getting the throwing ability back that he had before surgery, and that more than likely he'll never suit up again.
Take that for what it's worth, but King knows his stuff and wouldn't have said it if it weren't legit. I have to agree. If he's not able to play the way he could after surgery, why risk being hurt to just be mediocre? I think we've seen the last of Manning as a player. I hate to say it, but I think he's done.

So, Manning has been cleared by the NFL to play, but not by the Colts?? They say he hasn't passed their physical examinations yet, and as of now is unable to play...for them. Ushering him out the door?
His agent says he wants to play in 2012, and word is the Redskins are at the top of teams interested. As many times as I've been disappointed when the Skins threw money at past their prime big names, I really don't think Peyton is past his yet. And if there's any team in the league willing to spend to get him it's the Skins. I'm getting a little excited right now, I have to admit.
Nothing set in stone, hell...he hasn't even had "the talk" with Irsay yet.
But, if they're willing to part with him, the Skins could do a whole lot worse.

Now it's coming out that Manning had a fourth surgery during the lockout, and that the nerves aren't healing very fast, thus his inability to throw the ball like he used to. As much as I like him and want to see him play, I hope he calls it quits. I'd hate to be watching and see him get seriously injured.

WOW thinking about this the colts against my patriots won't be good games anymore. Maybe his wish to retire as a colt is coming sooner then we think

Everyone talks about Andrew Luck like he's going to come into the league and own from day one. The NFL is much faster than college, especially defense.
IF Luck becomes the Colts starter the Patriots would probably just pressure him all day into bad throws. Most of Manning's O-line is gone or going. So there goes the protection that helped make Peyton great. I think it's going to be a rough road for him at first, as well it should be.

Peyton has been video taped throwing, and he looks good, apparently. Taped at Duke, I think. Why there? nflsoup.com/?p=21911

I think one of Duke's coaches was one of Peyton's coaches at Tennessee.
