Just finished watching this, and to my surprise after all the negative things I've heard about it, I liked it. I liked it a lot.
The CGI is very noticeable at times, and towards the end I was getting pissed that it didn't tie into the 82 version, being a prequel. But, they take care of that nicely during the credits ala Dawn of the Dead.
It's a shame that the effects were better by the hand of Rick Baker in 1982 with no computer help. Some of the CGI works really well, some is just way too obvious, but I just chalk that up to the way things are done nowadays.
Solid cast, and the story worked. The 82 version is superior, but this wasn't a bad watch at all. I'd watch it again.

The 1982 version was so much better. This one was good, but my favorite part was the ending credits, with them tying it in to the 1982 version.
I am not a fan of the CGI. So many times, it just looks fake to me.
