This is on the list of remakes being talked about, and while I like the original a lot, this one could probably benefit from an update. The original is from 1980 and stars George C. Scott as a man who has just lost his wife and daughter in a tragic accident. He ends up renting an old, historic mansion and soon realizes he is not alone in the house. Good acting and a good story, but it does drag in spots. This is one that relies more on the chills to get you rather than any blood or gore. It does have some great spooky scenes. Definitely worth a watch if you find it on sometime.

Never saw the whole thing. I know my Mom really likes this one.

It's a good movie, I just have a hard time sitting through it any more. It drags, and I guess me knowing how it ends doesn't help, lol. Yeah, I'd check out a remake of this one.

A slow burn, for sure, but certainly worth sitting through.
Finally watched this one through Shudder when Joe Bob hosted it.
Been meaning to watch it before then, but always kept putting it off.
Dated and dull in spots, but, again, worth sitting through. If only for one time.
Not a favorite, but not a least favorite.
I like Melvyn Douglas and George C. Scott in this. Very fine actors. They've done better stuff, but it's always a delight to see powerhouses like them act off one another.

I saw this first, man I don't even know what year it was, but I know I watched it on a Betamax. I remember I was working construction and had gotten off early due to weather and was the only one home.
I loved it, went perfect with the rain/snow going on outside and had a good balance of creepy and scary mixed with sadness. It's a slow burn for sure, but still a good one.
