"Based on Stephen King's novel, the film's theme revolves around a mysterious pulse that's sent through cell phones around the world, which turns its users into crazed, rage-filled murderous zombie-types." www.upcominghorrormovies.com/movie/cellThis was a pretty good book by King, so it'll be interesting to see how it comes out on screen. The screenplay is written by King himself along with Adam Alleca. And John Cusak will star in it. Hopefully he'll be as good in this as he was in 1408. I'll post more info when available. Word is this will be a mini series now, rather than a movie.

Been a while since we've heard any news on this one. Some artwork for this has just come out and an updated synopsis... When a powerful signal is broadcast across mobile networks worldwide, cell phone users' minds are instantly and dangerously re-programmed. Heading north through New England in search of his wife and son, Clay Riddell (Cusack) is joined by a group of survivors hoping to fend off the bloodthirsty and hyper-connected "phoners." Being shopped to various networks now and should be coming in 2014 some time.

I've never seen that one. The book by King has been out since 2006 and was pretty good. Had some good gore and scares to it, it is King after all. I'll watch it to see how they do putting it on screen. I hope they keep this one true to the novel and not like Under the Dome.

I didn't like Cell that much. I was a little disappointed by the ending. But I do like John Cusack. I like the mini series Idea better than the film idea.

the ending was the worst part of the book. My wife is reading Dr. Sleep now, the sequel to The Shining, and everything I've read has been great about it. My wife loves it so far, I'll read it after her and see what I think.
I like Cusack too, but some of his movie choices just seem odd. Hope this one works as a mini series and he's good in it.

Looks like Cusack's motto for film making has becoming Film me, pay me. Jobbing his way through cinema.
