"A crackpot artist kills various people to use their blood as his new crimson red color for his paintings."
This movie is completely stupid. That being said, it still is pretty entertaining and worth a watch if you're a fan of H.G. Lewis.

Man, you posted up a bunch of good ones. I like this movie dumb as it is. I think it's because I saw it as a kid when I was just starting to really love horror, so it's sentimental to me. I have it somewhere on a collection disc.

I can completely understand that. Scott's inner artist really came out while watching this one. He was talking about all the different art styles, colors, and painting materials among other things.
What's truly ridiculous about this movie is that the blood would obviously not still be red when it dried. It would have turned brown, thus completely ruining his paintings. Oh well, when you watch a movie like this, you check common sense at the door.

Yeah, it's about suspending belief, especially with a lot of the older movies. Really worked for me as a kid, what did I care? Now, I find myself asking all sorts of questions and have to force myself to stop and just watch, lol.

Older ones I tend to be more forgiving toward. Once in a while though you see something so ridiculous that, even though you know it's just a movie, makes you scratch your head in bewilderment.

I thought this movie was much better than Tomas gave it credit for. Not only am I an artist I just found this to be a very entertaining film. I'm glad I own it now its just a great concept.

I did like it, just didn't remember liking it nearly as much as we did last night.

We sure were. It's been a while since I laughed so damn hard. We really came out with some zingers that night.
