Sad news for the horror community, Richard Matheson has passed away at the age of 87. He wrote a lot of great horror, and a lot of it was put on film. Some of his writings include I Am Legend, A Stir of Echoes, Hell House, and the screenplay for Duel. He also wrote fourteen episodes of The Twilight Zone including Nightmare at 20,000 Feet starring William Shatner. I have a few books with his short stories in them and they're great. The one story he wrote that forever changed my life was called Prey. It became the third story in Trilogy of Terror starring Karen Black that I saw as a kid. The story in the movie was called Amelia and it was about a Zuni fetish doll that contained a Zuni warrior's spirit in it. I saw this movie when I was young with my sister and it scared the freaking crap out of me. That story and that doll. I haven't been right since. So, rest in peace Mr. Matheson and thank you for making me the horror freak I am today.

Still don't know why they can't make a good movie of that. The best is the one with Price called The Last Man on Earth, but even that was off. Make the movie like the story, seems simple enough.

The Last Man on Earth is a great film, though.
It's called adaption for a reason. It's never going to be exact. Sin City went that route, and Robert Rodriguez almost got kicked out of whatever directors guild there is because he wanted to give equal credit to Frank Miller.

Yeah, it is a great movie. Just seems like the simplest details that make the most impact in the story always get left out. Maybe one day.
