WWE embarrassed as wrestling match outcomes leaked onlineA fan has provoked a furor in the world of professional wrestling after leaking the outcomes of 38 WWE matches ahead of the pay-per-view bouts. By Hannah Strange8:29AM BST 18 Jul 2013 The mystery fan, who identifies himself online as Dolphins1925, claims he has obtained the information from a source at Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and is revealing the results to highlight the organization's failure to keep its storylines confidential. Dolphins1925 started posting the results on Reddit's pro-wrestling forum after another fan launched a "prediction series", asking users for their picks ahead of the matches. He has since maintained a perfect record, even leaking the results of contests involving wrestling superstars such as John Cena and The Undertaker. He insists he does not work for WWE. “I am just a WWE fan like everyone else, and I am getting my information from a source who has VERY credible inside information regarding the outcomes (win/losses) of the matches themselves. Wow, that's nuts. If the guy is getting his info from a credible source at WWE why is he trying to out the person and get them in trouble with WWE? If the info is passed on to him, I guess he's free to post it. I feel sorry for the actual source if and when they're found out.

I agree. I think he's kind of a douchebag for spoiling it for everyone and putting his source in jeopardy.

It's wrestling, it's meant to be spoiled for everyone else. I crapped all over this on the show because it was in the Headlines segment. Just ridiculous that this is news, that there's leaks within the WWE, a huge company that's literally spread across the country at any given time.

Meh, there should at least be some mystique left to wrestling. They've come out and said the endings are predetermined and that it's all set up. Couldn't they at least find a way to keep the endings quiet until they happen? I mean, there are still kids out there that aren't totally smart to the business. A surprise finish would be nice, at least for them.
One of the reasons I really have nothing for wrestling anymore. I like some of the performers, but I couldn't tell you the last time I watched WWE on TV. And I gave up on getting any PPV's in the 90's. That's how long most of it has been a joke to me.

For me, the glory days of wrestling were when I used to go to MSG & Nassau Coliseum back in the late 70's and early 80's. Once they pulled back the proverbial curtain exposing the great and powerful Oz, it lost it's magic for me. I pretty much stopped watching the matches in the 90's, but I still have fond memories of some of the old WWF legends.

Between spoilers and rumors, wrestling fans are already a pretty jaded bunch.

Back in that day when kayfabe still lived, I knew it was a work. I mean I was 7 or 8 before I had it basically spelled out for me, but before that I'd think, c'mon... But I loved it, and I'd get worked into a frenzy when the hated heel would get over on or hurt a face, or vice versa since I always did like the heels a bit.
But, even though I knew down deep it they were all in on it together, I'd go to the matches, and if The Moondogs beat Garea and Martel for the title, I'd be shocked, like I should have been.
I know it's the internet age and they've come out and said it's all a work...all I'm saying is can't they keep one surprise in the bag? Do we need to know the outcomes of the matches before they happen now too? Why do people keep watching and handing Vince more money if you can watch on TV and already know the PPV results? I don't get it.

Well, I don't give Vince money because I get 10 hours of wrestling a week for free, why should I spend 60 bucks a month for 1 show? One that will be on the internet an hour after it's aired? Really has nothing to do with being in the know. While I enjoy the info, I don't let it interrupt my enjoyment of the product.
Too much.

But a lot of people do still buy the PPVs. We have a neighbor who's kid is into it big time and they get every one. One reason I don't let many know I like wrestling, or did...I don't want them inviting me over every time or talking to me about it, or anything really.
Anyway, this kid is a sucker for it. I don't know if he's online, he's 8, I'm sure he is. It would crush him to know in advance his hero was going to lose. Unless it was The Rock, even a blind man knows he's always going back to the movies.

Sometimes knowing the outcome makes you want to see it more. Did wonders for Foley.

And gave WWE the edge in the Monday Night Wars. Foley's emotional win, or the Fingerpoke of Doom. Which did YOU tune in for?

It being leaked that Benoit winning the 2004 RR got me to buy that, as well as WM20 (WHY DIDN'T I GO?!)

Given the storyline that was being played out, there was no doubt he was winning it that year. Him being in the main event, plus Eddie defending against Angle as champ were the biggest reasons I went to that show.
