So I saw that they are having a horror film fest here in late Jan- early Feb. and 1 of the movies they are showing is Cannibal Holocaust, I COULD NOT pass this up, so I bought my $6 ticket and I am ready to go!! |

They were playing Cannibal Holocaust here one weekend, but I missed it because of work. I'll probably catch it next time.

It's like a once every 4 or 5 year movie for me, may just make it once a decade.

I watched the making of featurette on the DVD and the part where the guy shoots the pig, he reacted differently than the director wanted and pissed him off, so they cut the scene short. (He didnt want to shoot the pig)

I've read that the director feels badly about the animal killings in the movie and wishes he had done it differently.

I heard that too. I'd honestly watch it more often if those scenes weren't in it, because it was a rather well made film.

There was more than enough rawness and gruesome imagery without the animal deaths in it. That was just completely unnecessary.

I nearly quit after that turtle scene. Jesus Christ man, that was long and painful. And you know they made that scene gruesomely long on purpose. It's to really drive it home how facked up they became as well as to really mess us up. It makes sense, but it's rough to watch. Especially how much they relish doing it. That's what bother's me. I've seen animals killed for food in shows like Bizarre Food and I can watch that because I know why it's done. Sustenance . Nothing more. But this, that scene especially, was just so glorified in the killing of the animal just because they can. |
