WrestleMania 30 is this weekend. And leading up to it, I'm going to marathon some of my favorite matches from the past WMs thanks to having the DVDs for 1 - 26 (not counting 28/29 because I've not seen them at all yet and have little interest at the moment to do so). Gonna do this is a sort of order, so I'll be skipping a few WMs, like 1 and 2.
Starting with Randy Savage defending the IC Championship against Ricky Steamboat at WM3. While not my favorite match, it is definitely up there as one of my top 10, if not top 5, matches.
Gonna be watching a lot of Savage, actually.
So, why start this thread? Is it to brag? Yes. Also, I want to know what are some of your favorite WM matches? Hopefully this year's PPV will add to that list.

I remember marathoning the first 22 with Jake. Good times.
I was always a fan of the Hogan/Bundy cage match from Mania 2. It wasn't often you saw blood back then, so that made it a big deal.
Also of course, my favorite mania match is Kurt Angle vs Shawn Michaels from 21. No titles on the line, just 2 guys going out there and putting on a true wrestling match.
Eddie Guerrero vs Kurt Angle from 20 was a good one, and of course the triple threat of Shawn Michaels vs Triple H vs Chris Benoit which FINALLY saw him win the big one and hug with Eddie at the end. So happy I was there for that.

Spent most of last night watching WM 5. Really, one of the best all time WMs ever. I love that card.
Now on to WM 6, starting with Perfect vs Brutus Beefcake because what the hell, it's Mr. Perfect. Overselling galore!
Tomas, since WM 21, that Michaels/Angle match has been my favorite and I can't wait to watch that soon. Nothing compares to 30 minutes of pure wrestling for the sake of who is the better man.

I have no idea which one I'd pick, I didn't see that many of them anyway. Lot's of overrated matches, like Hogan/Andre at III. I can get behind the historic significance of Hogan beating him and body slamming him and all, I just didn't think it was that great of a match given Andre was in such bad shape at the time, it was almost sad.
Savage/Steamboat was great. I really don't have the knowledge to give a good opinion on this topic without looking them up to jog the memory of the ones I saw.

Watch Shawn Michaels vs Kurt Angle if you haven't yet. Amazing match. Why wrestling is such a big part of my life.

I know I didn't see that, at least not live. Probably saw it or at least parts of it afterward.

While Andre/Hogan was by no means a technical masterpiece, it was a hell of a story being told in the ring. The ending was truly the passing of the torch, which makes it a significant moment in wrestling history.
Bret Hart vs Roddy Piper at WM 8 is a classic. Let us also not forget the greatest double turn in history that was Bret Hart vs Stone Cold at WM 13.
Since we're talking about the slam heard round the world, he's this little gem:

Growing up in the Kayfabe era I never new about Andre being slammed like that, I honestly thought Hogan was the first to do it when he came in as a heel against Andre in the early 80's. Of course I also didn't know that so many of the American guys were such big stars in Japan back then either or that some of the hugest faces in the business would go wrestle as heels there and vice versa. One I just recently found out about was Backlund defending his title there against Dusty Rhodes with Rhodes as the heel. Good stuff.

Dusty Rhodes as a heel? I...can't picture that at all.

WrestleMania just killed me last night. First half was stellar. Second half of ish decisions and shoddy streaming broke me as a fan.
Undertaker lost the steak, which doesn't bother me. Losing it to Brock Lesnar, a part time give nothing back piece of ish in the worst match of the year made me wanna puke. Utterly disgusting. F_ck you Mark Calaway. You and your career means nothing now.

What Scott said. The first half was so great and reminded you of why you love wrestling in the first place.
It started going downhill after Cena pinned Bray Wyatt. The action was solid, and the storytelling was out of this world amazing. Cena winning though was just an awful decision.
I'm not mad the streak is over. Hell, I've wanted the streak to be over for years, and wanted Undertaker to retire even longer than that. BUT, to give the streak to a part time guy who couldn't give 2 shits about the business is just insulting to me as a fan. Not just that, the match was HORRIBLE.
Lastly, we were all so bummed out that we just couldn't care about anything afterwards. The triple threat match was an overbooked, clusterf--k mess of a match. Even with Bryan winning the title, it just did nothing for me because of how bad the things before it were and how bad of a match it was.
I can't even lie, the 2nd half of this Mania has left me feeling completely depressed.

It's a sign of insanity. Doing the same thing week in week out thinking something is going to change.

I thought Taker losing to Bresnar sounded WTF? Sorry to hear the second half was so bad. Guess I'll see the clips eventually, but I'm more interested in seeing the HOF inductions.
