Well, our cable bill just went up to $200 a month, so that's it for us. Ditching the TV and phone service. Just keeping the internet. Gonna go back to Netflix streaming and adding a Roku channel called Playon that is a one time fee of $70 for life that will give us most of the cable shows we watch. Then, the antenna I bought for all of our local channels and football. Should save us about $140 a month.
Just can't justify the price anymore for what we're watching. Probably gonna make the call this Saturday. I'll let you guys know how it goes, but I think we'll be fine.

With all the movie and television streaming services available, paying for cable now is pretty much a ripoff.

Man, just for internet it's almost $80 a month with Comcast. I'm still doing it but will be looking for a cheaper ISP too.

Do what you gotta do, man. That's a disgusting price.

It really is. Like my wife said, even if we can't see all the shows that we like, they aren't worth the price we're paying. Can't wait to do this tomorrow.

Cut cable back to the basics, 22 channels I think. Got rid of the phone too since it didn't work anyway and I have my cell phone. Went back to Netflix streaming and added Hulu plus. That covers any movies and most shows. Plus, we have the other Roku channels to watch. Kept the fast internet and cut my bill from $200 a month to $118. Probably try this for a bit and then we may just ditch cable TV all together.
I do get a lot of WWE now, including NXT, so that's been fun. Really like that show. I don't like their belt, lol, but that's neither here nor there.

In my apartment, I just had internet and no cable. I stuck to my apple TV and had no phone service (most people I know don't have house phones. I have a cell with two numbers attached. Good enough for me). Saved me tons of money (especially since it was hooked to my parent's itunes/netflix/hulu account, but I suppose that's another story). $80 for net is tons better than $200 for everything, including the multitude of things you don't watch.
Even if you, say, buy season passes to every show you watch regularly on TV and rent/buy movies that aren't on netflix, you're still probably saving money. And you can go back and rewatch anything you want.
Also, the entire original run of Star Trek is on Netflix. What more can you possibly want? ;3

The one show my wife loves is House Hunters and that one is hard to find. There are a handful of episodes on HGTV's site, but not new episodes and we don't get the channel anymore. May have to go on a torrent hunt for them and build her a library of the show.

I'm not going to say that's the necessary option... but it's the necessary option.

Very hard to find this show. My wife doesn't even miss it, but now it's become like a thing to me to find it.

This is it. After this season of The Walking Dead, ditching cable TV. Should drop our bill to around $80 a month for internet, which is still too much, I think. But, Verizon is about the same for the speed we have. I can't wait.

There is. You need to get the private channels and if you have media on a PC or laptop, get the Plex channel and stream it all right to your TV. You should probably get Plex anyway, because you can install channels in that. Tons of great stuff out there. Glad to hear you're liking it.

It's really awesome, and it pays for itself in no time really at least when you start cutting back on cable some. One of the best purchases I ever made.
