Newest Megadeth album is nearly written, and tracking shall begin soon. With Broderick and Drover quitting I thought it was a done day for one of my favorite bands. But ole Mustaine called up Chris Adler from one of my other favorites, Lamb of God. Insanely talented drummer. So, I'm very excited for the release Just to hear the sound of it. Im sure with Adler behind the skins, it won't be anything short of awesome.

Tracking is scheduled soon. So I'm assuming sometime in the next couple months. At the latest next year. Either way, I think the wait will be worth it. I'm expecting much better results than their latest album.

Really love to hear some new stuff from them. I think Dave is basically the band, as in it's all his call as to how things are done, and I think that's hurt the band at times...Risk comes to mind. But, they've put out good stuff since and I think, much like other guys that got into it young, Dave is a different guy now. He's been clean and let go of the ego, for the most part. Look forward to hearing the new stuff.

Risk was definitely their weakest album, to me. still can't decide my favorite. Rust and Peace were so thrashy and intense. Then Youthanasia and Extinction had that groove feel. Which I love too.

I thought Youthanasia was very good and underrated. A lot of their albums were, but then they always seemed to coincide with Metallica releases. Dave thought Countdown would break them worldwide and then the Black album came out, and over shadowed it. Dave is a heck of a guitar player and song writer, and since he's gotten it together it's really shown. Wish him well on this next one, I'll be buying it.

Exactly. I'm kinda thinking it may be like this time around as well. I know 'Tallica is working on new tunes too. So, if they both release around the same time, the past may repeat itself, with Metallica again having a better result. Who knows.

Man, you know I love Metallica, but Megadeth is bad ass too. Been listening to both of them for a looong time. Maybe schedule a different release date this time around, lol. Metallica have said they have a new one coming, so let's space these bands releases out just a little this time.
With Countdown they basically went head to head release wise, don't know if that was promoters or managers or what, and I'm certainly not saying Megadeth couldn't hold their own, but why bother? Release it at a different time and let people experience it without something taking the hurrah out of it. Countdown could have pushed them to stadium level IMO, if it hadn't come out at the same time as the Black album. Just me thinking.

Random note. Dave was on Hell's Kitchen last night. He actually got his food, too.

I saw that NDX. He's got a very recognizable face, so he kind of stood out. Don't know if that was his wife with him or what, but it looked like a lot of his money went into her face.

Personally, Megadeth is my favorite metal band. Their song "Hangar 18" is also my favorite metal song.

Listening to it right NOW. Picked it up yesterday. I'm hearing a lot of people don't like it, but so far I think it's some of the best stuff I've heard from Megadeth in a while (granted, I lost touch with them over the last few albums, so I might not be the best judge). I'm about halfway through it, and I'm really digging it so far.

I've not heard it yet. I've got to admit that I was rather disappointed with their last album, so I wasn't that excited about this one coming out. I will check it out though...

This one has one of the best album covers they've had in a while, all shiny and metallic. I've heard a couple of their songs from Dystopia. Not as good as some of their older stuff, but hey, it's Megadeth! It's still pretty good, by all means.
