Why does it seem that damn near every post apocalyptic movie has some sort of midget in it? Whether a zombie flick or a nuclear meltdown or what have you, there seems to be one out there.
And they always sell junk.

Guess it's to drive home how an apocalypse can have such extreme effects. Turning people into zombies, or making them really short. Both devastating results in their own rights, but in the midget case at least it's much easier to pick up dropped change.
