Just randomly wondering for all of those out there who do any online gaming where you have to create a character name... Where does your name (or names) come from? Do you use an online generator or does it come from somewhere in your mind? Or does it stem from the media, some movie or TV series that you're really passionate about? Or possibly all of the above?!

Back in the day, I used to play PBM and e-fed wrestling games. I had a long-running character by the name of Richard Starr. At one time I had him turn heel, and decided to change his persona as well, so he changed his name to Rictras Shard. I liked the name, so I started using it on forums and in games such as WoW and EQ.

Interesting. I always wonder how some people come up with the names they use. As for me, names usually come from the media, either a TV show, movie or book that I'm interested in (lately, it's been related to Game of Thrones or The Harry Dresden Files). Sometimes I use the random name generator though if I'm stuck on ideas for a new name. Then some of them, I don't even remember where I came up with it.

Well, I was kaveman1969 on the wrestling site I used to visit, just because Kave is my last name. When all that crap blew up and I started this place, I wanted something new. I love the song The End of The Line by Metallica, so endoftheline became my username on a few other horror forums, getting an idea of what I wanted for this place and all, and someone on one of those responded to a post I made and called me endo. Been that ever since.

I used NDX for a forum on 2002 and it's been the same since.
