Crazy stuff, but Metallica's Master of Puppets has been added to the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress, and that's a pretty big f'ing deal. Congrats to them, that's gotta be a pretty mind blowing thing to experience.

I didn't know exactly myself, but there's only 450 selections added that are “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”, as deemed by the Library of Congress. "The Library of Congress included the album in the 2015 registry, which means it was determined by the federal government to be preserved for all time because of its historical significance. It joins 24 other seminal recordings, including John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme, Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” and George Carlin’s Class Clown." ww2.kqed.org/arts/2016/03/24/metallicas-master-of-puppets-is-first-metal-album-added-to-library-of-congress/Metallica is the first metal band ever picked. I think it started in 2002, so to have Metallica added as the first metal group, they gotta be proud of that.

Well, interesting. It is a great album (although I prefer Ride the Lightning).
