Hey hey I'm Brandon. The first horror movie I can honestly say that I ever saw was Tobe Hoopers' Texas Chainsaw Massacre when I was around 6 or 7 years old. It scared the ish out of me and I still hold it as the scariest movie ever today almost 20 years later. That was my intro to the craziness that is horror. Either it be film, events, haunted houses, halloween I have been "ate up" with it for years. I volunteer at a haunted house in my home town called the Culbertson Mansion. Last year was my 10th year and it's one of the most amazing experiences you can have. My right arm is my ultimate tribute to all things horror and Halloween. For the last 6 years I've gotten a plethora of tattoos containing the likes of Jason Voorhees, Freddy Kruger, Leatherface, Michael Myers from both RZ and the '78 original as well as pumpkins, witches, tombstones, bats and other creepy things. I have a soft spot for B horror flicks and am always open for suggestions. A lot of new age horror movies are a huge miss for me. The awkward "made for everyone" types with PG ratings. Not that PG can't be good, but they're typically not. Jason has always been my favorite killer of the icons but I love the other big ones too. It's awesome that forums like this exist for weirdies such as ourselves can get together and geek out! Hope to hear from you all.
Welcome to the forum Brandon! I got into horror at a very young age as well, and been obsessed ever since. Scariest for me would be The Exorcist, but The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is right up there.
I get you on the newer horror movies, but there are still some good ones out there if you give them a chance. Recently saw It Comes at Night and that was pretty good, but yeah, I know what you mean. Anyway, tons of stuff here to browse and get into, hope you find something that grabs you. If you have any issues with anything, just yell. Enjoy the horror!
