I've been thinking about seeing this movie when it comes out in April. Especially after I saw that trailer. I have the book on my Kindle Fire and I would like to read that book before the movie comes out though.

It's one of my favorite Stephen King novels. I love the original movie, but I think the book blows it away. I think you'll like it.

I’m sad to say that I read the script for this. While it’s a great adaptation for the first two acts. The third act is a doozy and not in a good way. Like at all.

Huh, well that kind of sucks. I'll still see it, I don't do movies in theaters anyway, so I can wait for the DVD. Really interested in seeing John Lithgow as Judd Crandell. Won't be the first time I've seen a movie fall apart at the end.

I think the biggest problem is it tries too hard to be different.
The changes are good at first and make it compelling. But in the third act it veers so far away from the source material that it’s like “Is this really the movie I was watching the first half?” It feels like a totally different not as good film.

I'm still very iffy on this one. I'll check it out when released on video.

Me and my girlfriend's first movie together -- on our first official date no less
Not an awful remake, and, in some respects, better than the one made by Mary Lambert, but definitely could have used a better third act and ending. With that said, I still prefer Lambert's version. Makes me sad though Romero was attached to direct a version of this book back in the day and I want THAT movie to exist. Not the ones we got. Although, Fred Gwynne rocks.
I still need to read the book.
