Jim Crockett Jr., the man in charge of Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling and the promoter for the organization, has passed away at the age of 76 of liver and kidney failure.
His father was the man who created JCP, or Jim Crockett Promotions, and Crockett Jr. took over and ran the promotion from 1973 until he sold it to Ted Turner in 1988.
So many great angles took place during the time that Crockett Jr. was the owner, too many to name here. Unfortunately, towards the end of his time as owner, the company was nearing bankruptcy, which is why he sold to Turner.
Still, he was a great owner for the most part and always kept a great roster of wrestlers, including Ric Flair, Rick Steamboat, Blackjack Mulligan, Wahoo McDaniel, Magnum T.A., Barry Windham, Sting and many more. He was also the NWA President on three occasions. The wrestling world lost a true old school legend.
RIP and condolences to his family.
