Came across this on by accident this morning. Was scanning Amazon.com for various dvds where I saw a Criterion Collection release for Island of Lost Souls from 1932, and it got me interested in the film. A representation of the Island of Doctor Moreau, it felt well done and had a great look for the time. Might be a purchase in the future.
Here it is, in chapters.

Ohh, that's the one with Charles Laughton and Bela Lugosi in it. I've seen this but it's been a really long time. Thanks for posting the videos.

I have to rewatch this one. I prefer Wells's original story though. It would be great if someone actually adapted this one properly one day. Although Laughton is particularly good, the movie is a bit stiff. And the '90s version . . . P.U. I'd want no CGI. No actor with the bullheadedness of either Marlon Brando or Val Kilmer. Guillermo del Toro would be someone I'd trust. Him or Jennifer Kent. Not that she's done anything on the level of del Toro, but her Babadook and Nightingale would bring a very interesting take to this subject matter. Perhaps Jordan Peele could adapt this.
I will say I do like the stuff with the Panther Woman. Makes the story more intriguing. Can't remember if that was in the original story or not. However, there didn't need to be another love interest. Just saying.
