and boy are my wings tired. But seriously, it just occurred to me that I have been remiss in formally introducing myself. By now, I'm sure most of you have noticed a new occupant flitting about from thread to thread, and while you may be familiar with my forum, Our Community Library, you really don't know anything about yours truly. I'll attempt to rectify that here... Born in the middle of the 1950's and raised in New York City, I spent countless hours of my childhood glued to the big Zenith console TV in the living room alongside my brother who is nine years older than me. Consequently, I wound up watching shows that were totally inappropriate for a young child. My brother was a horror movie fan, so what he watched, I watched. Of course that was whenever our parents weren't around to usher me out of the room, but even that didn't stop me as I snuck out of bed and peeked around the corner - I was the queen of stealth. One of my favorite shows was Chiller Theater hosted by the "Cool Ghoul" Zacherley. I loved Twilight Zone and the Outer Limits. I also have a nostalgic fondness for an Abbot & Costello movie entitled Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein. This movie, which made me both laugh and tremble with fear, left some eerie images in my mind that have always stayed with me. The best, however, was going to the movies, preferably the drive-inn, and watching a creepy double feature on the big screen while munching nervously on popcorn and ice cream Bon Bons. The last thing I saw every night before falling asleep were the models my brother had assembled - he had an entire graveyard of figurines on top of the dresser we shared. Let's see, there was Frankenstein, Dracula, the Wolfman, the Mummy, some kind of fish-headed swamp thing - I think it was the Creature from the Black Lagoon and an empty space in the corner that he told me was inhabited by the Invisible Man (of course I bought it hook, line and sinker.) I got teased a lot by my brother who was forever telling me the Boogieman was coming which was changed to just the Man after my Mom read him the riot act for telling me about the Boogie Man. Henceforth, this man didn't boogie - leave it to my brother to find a loophole. I have worked for elected officials for nearly 30 years and can't wait until I'm old enough to retire. I would like to have the time to write. I think I may have a book or two in me just waiting to be written. Perhaps one will be a thriller.

Nice to officially meet you. Your childhood sounds a lot like mine, except I have a 12 years older sister that helped hook me on horror at a very young age. Countless Saturday nights of me, my sister, and my mom watching Creature Feature hosted by the great Count Gore De Vol, real name Dick Drysel. If I bugged my sister enough, she'd even take me to the movies with her and her friends. I had the Universal Horror models too, my favorite at the time being the guy getting the guillotine. Heck, even now I have horror items and props all over the place, lol. My wife doesn't care much for that, but she tolerates it. Anyway, nice read. Good luck if you do decide to write some books. I'd be willing to bet a thriller would be a pretty easy write for you. Thanks for the introduction!! Glad to have you here.

Welcome. Nice introduction and nice to have another female here. You, Queen Freaky and myself prove that girls like horror too.

Glad you don't mind me hanging around. And of course females love horror too, hell, horror movies would be nothing without them. Now I think I'll just run through the threads, trip over my own feet and lay helplessly on the ground shrieking in terror while a slow moving monster catches up to me.

Horror knowledge and a nice sense of humor to boot.
