"In a new adaptation of Stephen King’s classic thriller from the producers of The Invisible Man, a girl with extraordinary pyrokinetic powers fights to protect her family and herself from sinister forces that seek to capture and control her.
For more than a decade, parents Andy (Zac Efron; Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile; The Greatest Showman) and Vicky (Sydney Lemmon; Fear the Walking Dead, Succession) have been on the run, desperate to hide their daughter Charlie (Ryan Kiera Armstrong; American Horror Story: Double Feature, The Tomorrow War) from a shadowy federal agency that wants to harness her unprecedented gift for creating fire into a weapon of mass destruction.
Andy has taught Charlie how to defuse her power, which is triggered by anger or pain. But as Charlie turns 11, the fire becomes harder and harder to control. After an incident reveals the family’s location, a mysterious operative (Michael Greyeyes; Wild Indian, Rutherford Falls) is deployed to hunt down the family and seize Charlie once and for all. Charlie has other plans."

I am not a big fan of the remakes, but this one is actually looking pretty killer and very intense! I will probably give this one a look!

Not a fan of the re-makes especially just for the sake of doing it. I like the original, not a favorite but I like it. Just really don't see the need, but maybe it'll blow me away.

That looks amazing... In my opinion there is nothing Stephen King has made that isn't Golden.

Stephen King actually didn't make or direct the movies, but wrote the original books the movies are based on. The stories told in the books are a bit different from what they have on screen most of the time.

I feel the same, I also like the original, but won't say I'd love it or it was a favourite. It's been decades since I've seen it though! This would innterest me though being from Blumhouse and seeing how they could take it in a modern day. I also love that Kurtwood Smith has a role in it!

I love Kings older stuff, but a lot of his newer stuff just isn't real good to me. And, he's had some movies based on his books that just didn't do the book justice. But, glad you enjoy his work!

He's said himself that it's terrible and he would never direct again, lol.

Anyone watched this one yet? I've seen it available online, but I've read so many reviews saying it's boring and slow that I haven't bothered watching it. Love to hear opinions on it, if someone here has seen it.

There is also a made for TV movie adaptation called "Trucks" that is better and more with the story that he actually wrote. I am not a fan of most remakes from the past coupe of decades now, but the two "It" movies were both amazing and scary to me, and the "Child's Play" remake is entertaining with some really awesome looking visuals. I will probably look at this one soon.

Funny you should mention Trucks, I just saw that not long ago. Didn't even know that version existed. I liked it better than Maximum Overdrive for sure.
