Here is one I've recently found. It's a Finnish silent film from 1923! It is described on some lists as horror, but it seems to be more gothic in style. It is set in an old manor house. I'm planning to watch tonight in bed. Let me know what you think of it if you decide to watch too! Based on the book Gamla baron på Rautakylä and the play Efter femtio år by Zachris Topelius. The picture quality is very good. Blurb: The old baron of Rautakylä (1923) is the first directorial work of Karl (Carl) Fager, known as a director. The silent film is based on the texts of Zacharias Topelius and its events take place at the Rautakylä manor on the shores of Lake Näsijärvi, inhabited by the elderly baron Magnus Drakenhjelm (Adolf Lindfors), in the winter of 1838. Film is here. English subtitles are available and are the small mostly white box next to the timer. move down to en to turn them on: elonet.finna.fi/Record/kavi.elonet_elokuva_117268?imgid=6It's legal and free to watch on Elonet, a website run by the Finnish National Audiovisual Archive.
