Since silent films are getting posted in here pretty regularly, I just thought I'd share this one from Thomas Edison, the same guy who invented the light bulb. This one goes all the way back to 1910, and this cut has a pretty good picture quality to show the artsy and unique format it was originally meant to be seen back when it first came out. This is also the actual first film adaptation of the Mary Shelly novel, "Frankenstein."

This is also the actual first film adaptation of the Mary Shelly novel, "Frankenstein." It shows doesn't it just how much the Universal Frankenstein Monster has come to dominate how we imagine the creature. Even though we have had films like Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, we still mostly view the creature as a lumbering, silent horror.
