I watched this back in the day, actually rented it with my kids one night for the VCR, so it's been a while. I remember it being a pretty slow one. It had it's moments, but for the most part I think I was bored watching it.

This is one of the scarier films I have seen, and also the only horror film I have seen Gregory Hines in. This is not a werewolf movie, but about a Native American tribe performing a ritual to turn themselves into wolves on each full moon. This is actually written, directed, preformed, and edited in very believable and scary ways. It is even better than a lot of the werewolf movies.

I read areas of New York in the 1970s and 1980s suffered from terrible urban decay. With flight to the suburbs by those who could get out and fires, as landlords burnt down their own buildings for insurance. You can see it in this film, it was filmed in areas of the South Bronx that had suffered among the worst.
