This was a six part British TV series made in 1972. Only black and white copies exist, but this adds to the atmosphere.
It is based on the book Marianne Dreams, by Catherine Storr, written in 1958.
Bedridden through a riding accident, a young girl's drawings become the setting for her dreams, and reality and fantasy merge when she meets a crippled young boy trapped in her dream house, who exists in the real world. There is a later film based on the book called Paperhouse, but I haven't seen it and can't judge how faithful it is to the book, or how like this version it is.

Paperhouse is awesome! I saw it a long time ago when we first got cable and then I couldn't remember the name of it. So, a few years later I saw the DVD at a flea market in Florida and just glanced at it, then I read the back and bingo! Now, I can watch it whenever I want and only paid 50 cents for it.
Speaking of watching it, it's about that time so it's going in the 31 Nights of Halloween!
