I finally got to see "Watchers 2," which is about time. I saw the original "Watchers" a long time ago, and don't remember much about it except for the boy and his mother running and hiding from the Watchers while being accompanied by a highly intelligent dog. The sequel is about a lab being burnt down with an experimental highly intelligent dog and a gill man created by radioactivity escaping. During the dog's escape, military police try to run him over, only to have a prisoner riding with them knock them away from hitting him, then to have the gill man kill them off, and the dog is able to get the keys from the dead driver and bring them to the prisoner so he can unlock the handcuffs on him, as they then escape in the jeep. The war prisoner and the dog spend the night at his ex-wife's house before taking off in his old car the following day with FBI agents watching the ex-wife's house, looking for him, and not knowing he had just came and went. They are also being pursued by the gill man who kills off anybody getting in the way, while the gill man is being pursued by the scientist who created him at the lab that got burnt down. The highly intelligent dog is very well developed and the dog playing that role is a great actor who was very well trained. This series is similar to the "Scanners" and "Trancers" series with a similar charm to it. Those into those two other series should also have this one appeal to them.

The monster doesn't look too great in this one, but overall it's a pretty fun horror flick
