"Pretty Ugly" 2010 is an old school done right psychological thriller in black and white format about a weird guy who is afraid of being rejected by society and moves out to the country so he can reject society first, only to come across a dead body of a guy who appears to have shot himself under a tree on his new property. Instead of reporting the dead body to the police, he decides to include the dead body with his daily work out routine by pushing it through the hills in a wheelbarrow. He then gets guided by the ghost of the dead man into solving a local murder, then traveling to take on the serial killer himself. This is overall intense with plenty of twists and turns. It also has a lot of beautiful background scenery with an intense but soothing music score to it. The bayonet scenes with the dead man's ghost are eye openers. This should appeal to those into Roman Polanski's "Repulsion," "Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer," "You Were Never Really Here," "Don't Torture A Duckling," "Seven Blood Stained Orchids," and the like.
