following on from the topic of scariest films, what about ones that seriously creeped u out rather then made u jump? U kow, the kind of films that are so messed up, they played about in ur head for days afterwards and made u feel pretty uncomfortable watching? movies can be scary yes, but most horrors are just spectacular gore fests (although thats not always a bad thing ), which ultimatly u know are nt real and would probably never happen. I found the ending of the original wicker man pretty horrific...... people will actually burn u alive for the sake of a good harvest the next year? knowing that things like this actually happened once upon a time freaks me out! and the image of that poor man trapped, saying his last prayers, knowing he was going to die very painfully still bothers me! I have a few others but will turn the floor over to the rest of u!

Great topic Queenfreaky. You're right about most horror films being gore fests, and I do like a movie that messes with your head. One that I had a hard time watching was the re-make of The Hills Have Eyes. The father from the family in the film is burned alive by the mutants early on, and that was a pretty disturbing scene.
Another movie that a lot don't know about is called Somebody Help Me, that movie is full of scenes that are just really disturbing. Another is the true story, The Girl Next Door. Another movie was also made about this called American Nightmare. Both are rough, but the first one made me turn it off and take a break. I'm sure there are many others, but these pop to mind immediately.

Two movies come to mind 1. High Tension 2. Shrooms
Both are the same idea that a person makes up a whole new world in their head. Creepy because this is the definition of a crazy person and they are everywhere.

I live for horror. It's my addiction. But some scenes just get me. The Girl Next Door is a rough watch.

I have nt seen that yet but I read about the true crime it was based on and I must say it did make me feel pretty grim, so if the movie is anything like the real thing, then it will bother me.

I used to have a thing for banned movies... if it had ever been banned then I had to have a copy, even if it was crap I had to have it anyway! As soon as it was released I bought it, hence how I waited 17 years for clockwork orange (which I love)!

I'm looking for this film have to see it any film that bothers a true horror fan I have to view it It's based on a true story, and from what I've read, "The Girl Next Door" follows what really happened pretty closely. If that's true, I feel extremely sorry for girl. She went through a lot of pain and suffering, and all of it could have been avoided. Everything just snowballed on her, and she paid a heavy price. Good flick, but it is rough.

I find the infamous crucifix scene in the exorcist pretty offensive, as well as the line reagen utters to her mother involving an act which should never occur between parent and child. I know u dont actually see anything and its implied (though the sound effects are pretty grim), but the thought of a child, even a pocessed one doing 'that' to herself makes me sick to my stomach. I also find 'creep' a pretty disturbing movie, especially the scene involving a pregnant woman strapped to a gurney, a mutated lunatic and a long nasty looking implement. Made me wince I can tell you. oh and the ending to the blair witch project. I know the debates and chaging opinions of this film are endless, and Im not a massive fan of the film, but the ending was fabulous, made the whole slightly messy film make much more sense, and creeped me out more the rest of the entire film!
