Just an opinion, subjct to beinng yelled at and called names but I have to say my top 3 "horror movies", are what I define as "classics. Not much blood, gore, various body parts scattered about to make a scarey movie. "DRACULA", FRANKENSTEIN, WITH BORIS K. as the monster, AND "THE WOLF MAN". Just for "fun, one has Abbott and Constello meeting one of the above cited monsters, just can't recall which in the title, but all 3 monsters are in the movie, plus the last scene has the "Invisible Man" making an apperance, sorta.

There are a few different movies with Abbott and Costello meeting the classic Universal monsters, but the only one with them meeting all three... Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Wolfman. That's from Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. Useless trivia for you there, lol.
And, I love the old Universal monster films as well. I live for Halloween when they show these old classics on cable. Great movies that didn't need the over the top gore or sex to actually scare you and get their point across. Love em.

I used to rent the old classic Universal films when I was younger. I always was a big fan of Creature From the Black Lagoon. That was such a cool looking monster design.

Yes indeed. Very scary. Loved the Chaney Phantom of the Opera as well.

I watched that a few months ago for the first time. Amazing music, and makeup that to this day is mind blowing.

Chaney Sr. had it rough. The makeup for movies like that really caused him physical pain, with the wooden teeth and all the other new at the time prosthetics. He's one of my favorites in the genre.

He'll always be remembered for it though. That and Hunchback of Notre Dame. We must thank him greatly for the pain he endured to make those timeless classics.
