The only positive.
A reboot that's also a sequel. What will they think of next?

I think it's kinda cool that Dourif is back doing the voice of Chucky. Course, he might not have much else going on, lol.

A reboot sequel being made while a remake is currently in production. Can't recall the last time I ever read about that happening.

the film needs to be a damm sight scarier then he last few installments. the last few were just stupid. (and complete pants) horror films are supposed to be just that, not a laughing stock of the entire genre. chucky could be awesome again if this was done properly!

Personally I never really got into the whole chucky movie thing. The first one was good but the rest, meh I could do without so if this one is on tv or I get good reviews I probably won't go out of my way to see it.

The thing with the Child's Play franchise, is they did the same thing they did with the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. They took a good, scary villain in the first movies, and tried to make him funny in successive films. And, in a lot of ways it didn't work. The second films of both franchises were good, to me anyway, and I think that's because they didn't go too overboard with the camp in them. Though, it was there, especially in NOES 2.
But, the more movies they put out, the more outlandish and ridiculous they got. This new take on Child's Play is supposed to get back to the scary, cold hearted Chucky that I liked so much in the first movie.
That doesn't mean it will be good at all though. They tried the same thing when they remade the first NOES. Yeah, Freddy was back to being sinister and mean, but something just wasn't there.
I'll wait and see on this one, I hope it comes off well.

It should hopefully at least be on par with the original. It didn't really age all that well to be honest, so a reboot could do wonders for it.

Surely won't stop them from being made though.

Sadly, no. Just gotta look for the gems. Hatchet did the sequel thing right last time, hoping they will again.
