After reading the reveiws on Lovefilm, my interest in this one was spiked, had not heard of it before. It was uncomfortable veiwing, but moreso with it being based on true events, I thought they film was done pretty well, apart from the girl playing Meg was a little old, she looked a lot older than the boys

That is a rough watch. There is another based on the same events, 2007's An American Crime with Ellen Page and Catherine Keener, but I think The Girl Next Door does a better job of conveying what those girls, especially Meg, went through.
I remember the first time the wife and I saw it, I had to stop it for a bit. Pretty brutal, especially being based on true events.

Although the girl next door is a pretty decent film, and well made - theres certain aspects of it that are in the film that did actually happen, and vice versa. I did enjoy it though.

They always have to add or subtract things for a film. It was definitely one of the roughest films I ever sat through. There were a few points where I was very close to turning it off.
