I just realized Dr. Death Steve Williams has been dead for over 2 years now. He died back in 2009 of throat cancer. Damn shame, one of the best wrestling talents ever.
His work in Japan is what wrestlers should strive for today, be it in a singles match or teaming with Terry "BAM BAM" Gordy in the Miracle Violence Connection (only the BEST! TAG TEAM NAME! EVER!).
Here, have a match.

Steve Williams was always one of my favorites. Shame he's gone. He had it all. The size, he could work, he could sell and he could do a great promo. Miss him a lot. Thanks for the video.

There's a wrestler out there name Michael Elgin we've nicknamed Mini Dr. Death. Looks a lot like him. Like a 5 foot 8 inch barrel with arms and legs that wrestles. And he has a lot of Dr. Death's mannerisms, and every match he does something new I have never seen before. He's one of the guys that make you proud to be a wrestling fan.
Here, so more Dr. Death.
Steve Williams & Terry Gordy vs. Davey Boy Smith & Bam Bam Bigelow (In my opinion, the BEST big man wrestler ever. Vader will always be second to his skill.)
Steve Williams vs. Bam Bam Bigelow
Mitsuharu Misawa vs. "Dr. Death" Steve Williams in AJPW 1994/07/28
Dick Murdoch vs "Dr Death" Steve Williams (Mid-South)
Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert vs. Dr. Death Steve Williams (5-17-87)

Just Googled and Elgin does look a bit like Dr. Death. Great videos as well. Gilbert was another great wrestler gone too soon.

Far too many of them. What was he, 34? Too damn many die too young in wrestling. And they still do.

33 according to Wiki. Rough business. There's so much sleaze and slime behind the scenes that most people are never aware of. I know about a lot of what goes on, just from what I read places, and I'm still shocked when someone passes out of the blue at a young age.
I think the thing that slapped me in the face of what the business was really like was Brody's death. That was a shame.

Bruiser Brody, I'm not all that surprised that someone took him out so violently. He was a mother@#$%er of a man. Hell, just reading about him and I wanted to shank him.

Never read anything bad other than his no selling when he didn't feel like selling, and not being willing to job to certain people. That's no worse than what Mil Mascaras did his entire career.
Whatta you got?

Well, that, but that's enough to piss a lot of people off. I think I read he had a bit of an attitude as well, more than just being stiff. And occasionally he took liberties in the ring.

I lot of the older guys were stiff, or wouldn't sell at times. Especially with people they thought weren't going with the program or were too cocky. Case in point the Brody/Luger match that Brody no sold in. He thought Luger was a punk and he was. Still is in my opinion. Don't care for him at all.
