Entire roster deemed unfit to perform at ECW reunion show... What was intended to be a nostalgic reunion of Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) alumni was instead an utter flop after every single wrestler was deemed to be in no condition to perform. The poster for a recent ECW reunion shows featured the images of several wrestlers who were deemed in no condition to perform. Fans who arrived at an armory in eastern Philadelphia — just blocks from the now-defunct ECW Arena — were told the show was cancelled due to an absence of capable performers, and that no refunds would be offered. Several hours before belltime, scheduled headliners Justin Credible, Sabu and Sandman were found in “rough shape,” apparently having overdone the previous night’s partying. Balls Mahoney was eager to perform, but was obviously concussed, babbling incoherently and vomiting occasionally. CW Anderson forgot to bring his ring gear, Nunzio got trapped in a backstage locker, and Raven was deemed too bitchy and lazy to perform. Tommy Dreamer wisely declined the invitation to appear. Jerry Lynn was eager to perform, but couldn’t find an opponent. It was the latest in a series of failed attempts to recapture the magic that once fueled the violent, renegade wrestling organization. ECW alumnus Shane Douglas, who coordinated the recent failed attempts at ECW reunion shows, insists that next month’s Extreme Jamboree will be “epic.” So far, only Mikey Whipwreck has agreed to participate, but only as a guest referee. www.kayfabenews.com/entire-roster-deemed-unfit-to-perform-at-ecw-reunion-show/Word has it that at the last reunion show fans were shouting stop the show and really giving it to Douglas. Pics of Sabu and Credible before the show...

We talked about this on Gorilla Blood right after it happened.
Sabu went to the hospital that afternoon, not even appearing on the show due to, what TMZ.com reported, was an "allergic reaction to medication". Right. Credible was trying to get back on the card after being sent home, even wandering around the crowd before having to be escorted out of the building. On the way home from the show, Ian Rotten had a car accident.
Balls Mahoney looks like absolute ish. At a recent JAPW show, he was so messed up he vomited mid match after a chairshot to the head. He's been #$%^ed up for a while, which is sad because he's a hell of a nice guy. But he's looked bad for 3 years now.
Damn shame that these "Extreme Legends" are so damn pathetic that they do this to themselves. They have nothing else going for them, even when they do (Sandman at one point had a lucrative construction business going for him). So they become horrible addicts because they have to up themselves. Sabu was a ish wrestler, but he was the king of crash and burn and people loved him for it.
And we still sit there going LOOK HOW AWESOME THAT WAS! But we don't care about their future (or for these wrecks, the present), we just want to see the violence (and I'm guilty of this, too).

I am too. And I used to love Sabu. Horrible wrestler as you said, but the extreme bumps he took gave me goosebumps sometimes.
Almost can't believe that's him in the pic. Feel bad for most of these guys that their lives have turned to such ish. I have a hard time feeling bad for Douglas, cause the guy is just a dick from everything I've heard and read.
Just need to let ECW go and stop tarnishing peoples memories of what was once a great renegade federation.

Wow. This is awful to read and even worse to see. It's a shame what's become of these guys. I think it's a real dick move to not give people their money back. If that's the case, why in the world would anyone put money down for a next show?

Agreed. If I had bought tickets to this one, that would be it for me. Douglas is trying like crazy to get the reunion thing off the ground, guessing cause he's broke. But, it's really hard to do when the "talent" is passed out in their hotel rooms. Or worse, backstage.

Look at what's become of Balls Mahoney.
Just... man, this is a reason I've limited a lot of my indy wrestling shows.

That is absolutely revolting. Those guys shouldn't be anywhere near a ring in that condition.
I can't believe what's happened to Balls. The guy is super nice, but he's appeared to have hit rock bottom here.
