Not really sure yet if this is the remake that was in the list of upcoming remakes I posted a while back or not. I would guess it is, since it's being written by Don Mancini, and is supposed to take place directly after Child's Play 3. ... that censored poster is bullshit. If you're going to go that route, go that route. Don't be a pussy about it.

I agree. And after reading the article more closely, I guess this is a separate movie than the remake of the original that was talked about. All this energy spent on rehashing old films, what's wrong with something new? Are people afraid to take a chance on that, and would rather bank on the name selling even if it sucks? That's a pretty sad state. Shrewd, but sad.

One of those sequels that pretend the middle parts didn't happen. Nothing really wrong with that, since those weren't exactly high points for the series.

Remakes is where its at. You can't create a new slasher it wouldnt be right it would be worse than paranormal activity.. Yea i didnt get the point of censorship on that ad or maybe they are playing the Child play thing hard either way ill watch this one cant be as bad as the last couple of remakes

Yeah, I can't deny that the remake trend is in full swing...the list of upcoming ones proves that. And, I don't necessarily have a problem with that. It's the ones that seem like they're just trying to make a buck off of the name with a crap movie that piss me off. Hatchet is a fairly new franchise, the third movie will be out this year, and they created an entirely new horror icon and a great couple of movies so far. So, it can be done. I just think a lot of people want the quick dollar and don't care about the end product.

They go hard for that nostalgia dollar.
This is supposed to be a back to the basics semi-reboot, and I'm all for that. Definitely can't be worse than Seed of Chucky. Yuck.

Yeah, I didn't mean to seem like I was singling this particular one out. You're right, it has to be better than the last two movies even, lol. Seed was the worst, but they were both pretty bad...to me anyway.

I actually like the horribleness of those films.

Bride was bad in a fun way. Seed is just way too dumb for me, but Jennifer Tilly has some really great...eyes.

Her eyes are just so...big. I couldn't pull myself away from them. I remember the first time I saw this, I kept waiting for one of her eyes to accidentally fall out, but it never happened.

Be great to see her sister, Meg Tilly, get involved as well. Big eyes there too.
